Some of the weaker series I’m not really bringing myself to watch, so they’re really slipping by the wayside. Every episode of a series in the bottom 6 in the rankings last week led to my dropping it. I guess I’m getting down to the stuff that is really worth my time to watch now.

Thoughts on specific episodes:
Two series really pulled through this week. One of these is obvious from the rankings above, the other not so much.
Firstly, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. Every time this series gives hints of romance I get put off it. I don’t like where any romance that develops would inevitably lead, so I don’t really want it to happen. That’s why it was rather low on the rankings before. It looked like that romance would be the main focus of the series, so I didn’t really look forward to it. The two episodes that I brought myself to watch this week, though, didn’t really focus on that. That performance was one of the most nervewracking scenes I’ve ever seen in an anime. And that got me invested in the characters, and the series like I hadn’t been before. I still feel there’s a good chance it will just slide back down again but hey…
Secondly, Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de. I think Tomoyo is my favourite character of the season. Heck, she could be my favourite new character of the entire year. Not that this is saying all that much – this year has had a lot of very good new characters, but is rather lacking in really special ones. Either way, though, an episode focused on a character that I like so much was always going to be good. But this one greatly exceeded my expectations, and actually made me like her character significantly more than I already did. I don’t care what Andou says. I’m rooting for you, Tomoyo. In more ways than one. I’ll be sure to put a few volumes of this series in my next order from Japan. It’s looking like that could be a very ranobe-heavy order…
Denki-gai… well that’s probably the best pants-focused episodes that I’ve seen, but that’s not really saying much.
