Chain Chronicle: Haecceitas no Hikari

Youjo Senki – Gripping and exciting more than anything else. I’m not usually one for overly action-packed stuff but I really liked this one for some reason.

Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon – Didn’t like Lucoa at all, but the other characters were all good and the series had some good interactions between them. Kanna was my favourite, of course. Might try out the manga at some point.

Schoolgirl Strikers – Whenever you are in the shower, the oblis will invade. Perhaps there’s some magic feature of those showers? Anyway, great fun series with some great characters. The ending was a total deus ex machina but oddly I think that fits with the tone of the series. Satoka best character of the season.

Idol Jihen – placed on hold as I hadn’t watched any since the first episode.
Placed Chain Chronicle on hold as I was really not getting into it. It felt like a poorly done adaptation.

I still intend to finish the other four series (Demi-chan, Masamune-kun, Akiba’s Trip and Rewrite). Along with various things from earlier seasons. I have 23 things still on watching at the end of a season with just 2 things continuing.

Some good episodes of Kochinpa! over the last few weeks, incidentally.

Nobunaga no Shinobi – good fun series with nice humour, although I’m sure there are historical references that go over my head. Onwards to the next series. Next week.

Nyanko Days – I swear the ending of this thing is like some kind of hypnotism. Look into my eyes… Nyanko is love… love… Nyanko is love… love… If it is meant to be that, though, it doesn’t work too well.

Piace: Watashi no Italian was one of those series to watch just because. It had interesting enough characters and events to keep me watching.

Kemono Friends – I think this has top spot on this year’s list of biggest pleasant surprises wrapped up already. Which would be the second time that Yaoyorozu have taken it. Back in my watching intentions post I said that this looked “like just the sort of thing that probably should be a short”. Having watched it I am so glad it wasn’t, and also so glad I picked this up (I nearly didn’t bother even trying it). Great fun series with brilliant characters, and always of course that bit more under the surface.

Gabriel DropOut – Some good comedy, although it was starting to feel a tad repetitive by the end. Satania best character.

Even though this was officially the final week of Winter, next week I will mostly be watching and hopefully finishing off the other things I’ve been following. And then it’s time for Spring to begin. Watching intentions will be up shortly before I start watching stuff.

KonoSuba 2 – More antics, more humour and an even more broken world than we had before. What’s not to like? I haven’t bought the first light novel yet but will do soon.

Strange to think the season is coing to an end already. Each season seems to end faster than the last one did. I guess it’s about time to start looking into next season’s stuff.

I finally got around to actually putting that Non Non DVD in my computer and playing it. Took long enough. The OVA itself was perhaps on a par with one of the weaker episodes of the series as a whole, but this is perfectly normal and thus it still makes it one of the better OVAs I’ve ever seen. The autumn one was my favourite of the four parts.

Seiren – Yeah, not interested in this after all. Watching a guy dating 3 different girls could only ever feel wrong to me.

Well, things are beginning to pick up now. Great episodes of both Gabriel DropOut and Youjo Senki (particularly the former), and lots of good stuff across the board. The Anime of the Season title looks like a contest between the two of them now.

This season’s shorts continue to be somewhat disappointing, though.
