Idol Memories
A week of endings, both of series from the current season and of a couple of backlog things. Next week will bring more endings still. Including, of course, the ending of the season. Yup, only 12 weeks this time.
Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku – I went into this at the start having forgotten about what I had previously read on the series. Started off thinking how adorably sweet it was, right up to just before the end of the first episode. Then *that* happened, and I remembered. I found the series to be encaptivating from start to finish. There are a couple of things I don’t fully get (like what a certain object actually does) but I’m sure they’re explained in the light novels. Which I will, of course, be buying.
High School DxD – Slightly better than I had expected. I’ll get and watch the second one at some point.
Shakunetsu no Takkyuu Musume – Honestly, the worst thing about this series is that it ended. And unfortunately I’d be surprised if there was any more of this anime. I looked into the first part of the manga but it seemed to be rather lacking compared to the anime. Might buy the first volume at some point anyway just to try it properly, though.
To Be Hero – They really did give up on it. What a mess of an ending that was.
Bungou Stray Dogs – that all came together rather nicely in the end, didn’t it. Honestly if it weren’t for a single event that proves a rather important plot point for the final episode then I would ask why the series didn’t end there.
MahoIi – I’ve not really read the manga beyond the content of the first season, but I’m really wondering how the two things interact with each other now, given how much the second season builds off content from the first that was pure filler. Oh well, only one way to find out. Filler or not, though, it was a good watch.
Teekyuu 8 – Teekyuu 9 please.
Senki Zesshou Symphogear G: In the Distance, That Day, When the Star Became Music… – One of the most enjoyable series I’ve watched all year. The fact that I had been expecting to watch eps 3-13 over three days and then ended up watching it in one speaks volumes. It had a better conclusion than the first did as well. There’s a third season to watch still and a fourth and fifth to come. The relative lack of info is slightly concerning but the first cour is being reaired in Japan this winter which could lead to us getting more info.
Kiitarou Shounen no Youkai Enikki – a fun little series with adorable characters. And some not so adorable characters.
