Winter 2017 watching intentions

After a season in which I didn’t do this, I’ve brought it back. This season is the first in quite a while with fewer than 50 anime in total, and less than half of those are ones I intend to watch. Nevertheless there’s plenty there and it really just means that I’m more likely to actually try everything in the “will try” section.

Note: parts of this were written up almost a month ago. I’ve checked back over most of the anime that I intend to try but some may be out of date.

List after the break.

Continuing from last season: (2)
Aggressive Retsuko
Nobunaga no Shinobi

Will try: (22)

Sequels and related stuff: (4)
Kochinpa! Dainiki
Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 2
Rewrite: Moon and Terra
Little Witch Academia (TV)

High Expectations: (5)
Gabriel DropOut – this actually sounds really good.
Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon – “Maid” and “Dragon” are two words that I would not expect to go together very often. Sounds fun and funny.
Masamune-kun no Revenge – started reading the manga of this, then stopped to buy the volumes and never got around to doing it.
Urara Meirochou
Youjo Senki

Medium Expectations: (6)
Chain Chronicle: Haecceitas no Hikari – That PV was pretty awesome. I hope they haven’t just shown the climax of the entire series, though.
Nyanko Days – insufficient information
One Room – “something completely different that I have no idea what it will be like” = automatic entry into this category
Piace: Watashi no Italian – Could be fun. Could be tedious.
Schoolgirl Strikers: Animation Channel – Not much info on what the anime will be like. Will watch to see.
Seiren – Anime staff: “here, have a character design. That’s all you need to know about this series, right?” Me: Errm…

Low Expectations: (7)
Akiba’s Trip The Animation – I’ll give this a try but it sounds like something that exists solely for the sake of ecchiness…
BanG Dream! – Looks very much like there will be live action inserted in the middle of the anime. Which is never a good thing to have.
Chou Yuu Sekai: Being the Reality – probably won’t be available but if it is I’ll give it a try. Not much info on what it’s like.
Demi-chan wa Kataritai – I’m not a fan of monster girl stuff generally. This could be good, though. Emphasis on the could.
Idol Jihen – Doesn’t seem to be any info other than just “idol anime”. Most idol anime are not worth watching.
Kemono Friends – So here we have a promotional anime for a game that doesn’t exist any more. It looks like just the sort of thing that probably should be a short, although there really isnt much info about it, and it’s going to be a full length series. Art looks good, though.
Kuzu no Honkai – This looks like a series that will drive me mad with frustration. Going to try it anyway, though.

Won’t watch: (24)

Sequel/Related series of unwatched/unfinished anime: (13)
Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou-hen
ChaoS;Child
Choboraunyopomi Gekijou Dai San Maku Ai Mai Mii: Surgical Friends
Chou Shounen Tanteidan Neo (sort of)
Fuuka
Gintama (2017)
Kirakira☆Precure A La Mode
Reikenzan: Hoshikuzu-tachi no Utage 2nd Season
Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: Sukeroku Futatabi-hen
Super Lovers 2
Tales of Zestiria the X (2017)
Yami Shibai 4th Season
Yowamushi Pedal: New Generation

Other: (11)
ACCA: 13-ku Kansatsu-ka – doesn’t seem my sort of thing
Chiruran: Nibun no Ichi – doesn’t seem my sort of thing
ēlDLIVE – The more I look into this the worse it sounds. I think I’ll stop here.
Hand Shakers – Watching that PV made me feel sick.
Inazma Delivery – That trailer could hardly have been less appealing.
Marginal#4: Kiss kara Tsukuru Big Bang – the whole point of this seems to be the OPs and EDs. Are they not going to bother with anything else?
Minami Kamakura Koukou Joshi Jitensha-bu – doesn’t seem my sort of thing.
Nananin no Ayakashi: Chimi Chimi Mouryou!! Gendai Monogatari – nothing appealing.
Onihei – doesn’t look like something I’d be interested in.
Sentai Hero Sukiyaki Force – pointless.
Spiritpact – Shounen Ai + Supernatural action is not a combination that appeals to me.
