The beginning of the end of the final season of the year. This week I caught up with a whole load of series, watching a lot of episodes from individual things, but I’ll leave the write ups for the most part until next week when most of them should be finished – except for Lance N’ Masques which is finished already.
Incidentally, next week’s roundup post may be a day late as I won’t be at home on either Christmas day or Boxing day.

As expected, the more recent arc of Noragami hasn’t lived up to the standards of the Bishamon one. It’s not that it’s bad, but rather that it is back to the level that the first series was at. Things are tight enough at the top that this has had a significant impact on the rankings.
Lance N’ Masques became the first of this season’s anime to be completed, on Thursday evening. I love the humour style of this series and it is that humour, along with the cast, that made me grow to love this series. Nonetheless it was the last episode, which was also the only one where the humour was absent, which in my opinion was the best episode of the entire series (although this didn’t prevent it getting leapfrogged by Rakudai… more on that next week). It’s also the best ending of a TV anime adaptation of a light novel series that I have seen in a long time. It’s not the ending of the series for me, though, as I have ordered the first two light novels from honto and they’ll be arriving some time in January.
