I’m going to be trying out slightly less things this season than I have for the last few, in an attempt to stop myself from falling behind, which I have done every season since I started trying just about everything that aired. Especially given that doing this has prevented me watching series that I was quite looking forward to.
It helps that there’s quite a lot of things that, for one reason or another, I don’t want to watch anyway.

Brave Beats – Really doesn’t look like my sort of thing.
Cardfight!! Vanguard G: Gears Crisis-hen – sequel to something I haven’t watched.
Diabolik Lovers More,Blood – sequel to something I haven’t watched.
Doushitemo Eto ni Hairitai – Over the past few seasons I would have given this a try, but it really doesn’t look worth watching.
Fuusen Inu Tinny 2nd Season – sequel to something I haven’t watched.
Garo: Guren no Tsuki – sequel of series that I didn’t finish
Haikyuu!! Second Season – sequel to something I haven’t watched
Hidan no Aria AA – part of a franchise that I am not familiar with
Hokuto no Ken: Ichigo Aji – spinoff of something I haven’t watched.
K: Return of Kings – sequel of series that I didn’t finish
Kagewani – either I won’t get into this or I will hate it. Either way, there’s no reason to watch something with zero chance of pleasure.
Kamisama Minarai: Himitsu no Cocotama – doesn’t seem like it will be entertaining.
Ketsuekigata-kun! 3 – sequel to something I haven’t watched.
Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo Returns 2nd Season – sequel to something I haven’t watched.
Kowabon – sounds repugnant.
Kyoufu! Zombie Neko – that last one sounded repugnant. This one looks it.
Mini Van 2nd Season – sequel to something I haven’t watched.
Miss Monochrome: The Animation 3 – sequel of series that I didn’t finish
Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans – part of a franchise that I am not familiar with.
Neko no Dayan: Nihon e Iku – sequel to something I haven’t watched.
Osomatsu-san – nothing about it looks appealing to me.
Owarimonogatari – sequel of series that I didn’t finish.
Peeping Life TV: Season 1?? – That title, those graphics. Everything screams out a big “NO!”
Pokemon XY&Z – sequel to something I haven’t watched.
Shin Atashin’chi – sequel to something I haven’t watched.
Shinmai Maou no Testament Burst – sequel of series that I didn’t finish.
Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Agressor – Exodus 2nd Season – sequel to something I haven’t watched.

One Punch Man – honestly, at first glance I expected this to be awful, but the more I see about it, the more potential it seems to have.
Onsen Yousei Hakone-chan – This looks like it could be thoroughly enjoyable. Here’s hoping it is.
Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry – I almost always like this type of series.
Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai – had half an eye on this series for a while.
Not sure what to expect: (10)
Dance with Devils – the background music to that trailer is awesome. The show itself? It looks like it has potential, but there isn’t enough info to say much more.
Fushigi na Somera-chan – these sort of things can be good or they can be awful. Either way it almost certainly works better in manga form but oh well.
Gakusen Toshi Asterisk – I have my hopes, but that’s all they are.
JK Meshi! – Not much information.
Komori-san wa Kotowarenai – if this isn’t too fragmented it should be enjoyable.
Lance N’ Masques – the info I have about this series manages to range from near maximum hype level for an unknown series to “oh god this is going to be awful”. Here’s hoping the former is justified.
Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru – I’m always a bit suspicious of pure mysteries, but this is on the higher end of this section.
Shingeki! Kyojin Chuugakkou – parody spinoff manga can be anything from hilarious to unbearable.
Subete ga F ni Naru: The Perfect Insider – lack of information
Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note – Again, not much information. Characters could be good from their descriptions but other stuff not so.
Low expectations: (8)
Comet Lucifer – Mecha = turn off.
Concrete Revolutio: Choujin Gensou – I can’t help but think that this is going to be awful. The plot concept is one that is extremely hard to pull off, and nothing about it so far gives me any confidence. If it is done well, though, it could be great.
Hacka Doll The Animation – a news app? Could be entertaining, but only if it bears little to no relation to the source.
Heavy Object – Mecha = turn off.
High School Star Musical – a non-comedy series with an all male cast is not exactly something I look forward to. That said, it could be good. Indeed, it could be very good. Just it’s more likely that it isn’t. We’ll just have to see.
Itoshi no Muco – could be fun, which is why I’m watching it, but series with animals as a main character almost never are.
Ore ga Ojousama Gakkou ni “Shomin Sample” Toshite Gets♥Sareta Ken – this ticks box after box of things I don’t like.
Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid – “beautiful girl sexy battle action” – wait, why am I even putting this on my intend to watch list again? I hope the genres on MAL are wrong and this is 100% comedy. Because if not this is going to be dropped fast.
It might look as though my expectations for this season are lower than in previous ones, especially considering that 3 or 4 things that would have been in the low expectations section in the past are now in “won’t watch” instead, but that’s mainly because I’ve separated the sequels out into their own category. It should go without saying that all of these would be under “high expectations” otherwise.
