Expectation levels: (as before this isn’t saying “this will be good” but as something to look back to)

High Expectations:
Arslan Senki
Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken 2 Sure-me – Okay, it’s a bit of a stretch putting this in here as the first wasn’t great. But it was a fun enough watch and I expect this one to be about the same.
Denpa Kyoushi – I started to read the manga online, and very quickly decided “this is something that I have got to buy”. Then never did. I should expect the anime will motivate me to change this.
Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darou ka? – Absolutely loved the first volume of the light novel. If the anime adaptation can capture half of that then it will be a definite contender for AOTS, even amongst this fierce competition.
Eikoku Ikke, Nihon wo Taberu – it might seem bizarre that this is going up here but personally I think it could be fascinating. A Japanese take on a British person’s thoughts on Japanese cuisine? Yeah, worth a watch. As a British person myself.
Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (2nd cour) – continuation of the last half in story; continuation of the last half in quality.
Hello! Kiniro Mosaic – the first series was great fun. Here’s hoping the second lives up to it.
Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku – hoping this will be really interesting and fun.
Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu – Read and like the manga. Definitely looking forward to this one.
Re-Kan! – I have and like the manga. It could adapt fairly well, too.
Takamiya Nasuno Desu! – not my favourite character from the teekyuuniverse, but I know the mangaka is good at comedy and trust him/her/them/it to have pulled it off again.
Teekyuu 4 – moreteekyuumeansmorestupidandstupidlyfastpacedcomedywhichcanonlybeagoodthing.
Tesagure! Bukatsumono Spin-off Purupurun Sharumu to Asobou – Not entirely sure about the fact that this is a spin-off but they’ve had time so at least the weirdness of the first half of the second season won’t be repeated. This series is so overlooked by the western fandom it’s tragic.
Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku – the first series was brilliant and I love the characters. Incidentally, it’s conceivable that Hachiman could become the highest ranked male character on my favourite characters list.

Not sure what to expect:
Ameiro Cocoa – I hope this has good characters. It will need them.
Digimon Adventure Tri. – It’s been a long time. And I have no idea how or where they will take it. Whether they stick to the style of the first or change it, and whether they make certain retcons or not, this is guaranteed to make some people hate it and others love it. I can only hope that I am in the latter category.
Etotama – might be funny. Might not.
Hibike! Euphonium – every season there’s something that you have to go into completely blind due to a near total absence of information about it beforehand. This is one for this season.
Houkago no Pleiades – I’m still completely bemused by the very concept of this one. Is it still being funded by Subaru?
Kyoukai no Rinne – the manga isn’t all that entertaining, to be honest. This isn’t so much not sure what to expect as mediocre expectations.
Lupin III 2015 – is this worth the praise or is it just like the mostly low-tier stuff that it begat?
Ore Monogatari!! – I really don’t like most shoujo romances. But sometimes they produce gems. This one is currently sending signals in both directions.
Owari no Seraph – rank outsider wildcard for AOTS, and possibly even AOTY. It’s more likely that I won’t like it, though.
Plastic Memories – Insufficient information.
Shokugeki no Souma – I’ve heard lots of praise for this series but I’m not entirely sure how it even can justify it.
Show by Rock!! – Two PVs with radically different feels to them. Which is the more accurate representation of the series itself?
Urawa no Usagi-chan – What is this? And OH GOD THAT PV WHAT THE HELL…

Low Expectations:
Bar Kiraware Yasai – there’s about a 9 in 10 chance this will be awful. There’s about a 1 in 50 chance that it will be the funniest anime of the entire season.
Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation – adaptations of games are rarely good. Particularly of games that come from genres which I myself am not interested in.
Kekkai Sensen – The whole synopsis, the whole artwork, all indicate that this is likely to be not my cup of tea whatsoever.
Nar Doma – A narcissist and a masochist as the main characters? Honestly I’m not sure why I’m even bothering. This will be doing well if I make it to the end of episode 1.
Omakase Mamitasu – typical kid stuff.
Pikaia – labelled on MAL as a kids series, which is usually not a good sign.
Punchline – more like “pants line” based on that PV.
Triage X – Really don’t like the character designs. The synopsis sounds even worse, though.
Vampire Holmes – description is basically “Holmes-esque story but without the whole point of the Sherlock Holmes”. 5 minutes says this won’t be worth my while.
Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo – sounds like it will make me feel uncomfortable.
