Weekly Anime Roundup – Winter 2015 Week 5

It seems every week something happens to interrupt my viewing. This time it was my headphones breaking (or, more accurately, the sound going in one ear). I bought myself a new set but they’re rather tinny so I’d rather not use them much. So I’ve also ordered a new pair of the same ones as I had before. I’ll keep these ones as a spare – even with the tinniness they’re a good deal better than the bass-enhancing pile of junk that I was conned into buying once and which form my current spare set. Seriously, why do people act as though a set of headphones that deliberately and significantly distorts the sounds they produce is a good thing rather than being a case of something inherently broken?

Anyway, enough about headphones.

I also read rather more manga than usual this week, catching up with Saki (which I had slipped behind on), Aizawa-san Zoushoku (which I didn’t read the latest chapter of when it came out due to it happening whilst I was ill) and Spirit Circle (which I only started reading last week)*. Despite that, the headphones issue, and not being around at all on Sunday or yesterday, I still managed to watch about as many episodes as there are series that I am following this season, so it wasn’t too much of a setback. Although I’d have liked to catch up a bit as well.

Episodes watched this week:
Log Horizon 2nd Series 19
Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata 4
Isuca 2
Shirobako 18
Military! 6
Koufuku Graffiti 4
Koufuku Graffiti 5

Winter 2015 Status

Series rankings at present:
1. Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata (up 3)
2. Koufuku Graffiti
3. Dog Days” (down 2)
4. Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE! (down 1)
5. Seiken Tsukai no World Break
6. Ansatsu Kyoushitsu
7. Yoru no Yatterman (up 1)
8. Absolute Duo (down 1)
9. Kantai Collection
10. Rolling Girls
11. Junketsu no Maria
12. ISUCA
13. Sengoku Musou (up 1)
14. Military! (up 1)

placed on hold:
Death Parade

Quite a shakeup at the top end, which is an indication of how close things have become more than anything else. On the other hand, the lower half of the rankings is filled with huge gaps, especially with me putting Death Parade on hold (t wouldn’t surprise me if Sengoku Musou joined it soon as well). Although Military! is catching up a bit, thanks to me realising that the episodes are far better if you exit just before the military otaku splurge bit at the end starts.

ISUCA nearly got dropped halfway through episode 2 but scraped through. I hope I am glad of that decision later.
* Should I expand these posts to include a bit about read manga/light novels as well?
